NIB Constitution, Objectives & Rules

Preamble

We, the members of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), fully committed to the Constitution of India and the rule of law, hereby adopt this Constitution to work toward building a just, safe, aware, and crime-free society.

We affirm our dedication to:

  • Ensuring that every citizen receives justice, safety, and dignity regardless of background.
  • Promoting public awareness, legal literacy, and victim support through lawful and constitutional means.
  • Empowering society by fostering responsible reporting, awareness, and participation in crime prevention.
  • Upholding transparency, neutrality, and non-political values in all activities of the Bureau.

Objectives

The National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) is a non-governmental, non-political, and independent public-interest organization committed to serving the nation through crime awareness, legal literacy, reporting support, and civic engagement.

Core Objectives:

  • To provide a secure and confidential platform for citizens to share information regarding criminal activities.
  • To raise awareness about various forms of crime such as cybercrime, human trafficking, child abuse, substance abuse, domestic violence, fraud, and corruption.
  • To guide and assist victims of crime in accessing legal remedies and institutional support.
  • To conduct legal literacy and public awareness campaigns, workshops, and outreach programs to empower citizens with knowledge of their rights and responsibilities.
  • To train volunteers and youth to actively participate in social change and crime prevention efforts.
  • To collaborate with law enforcement, legal aid bodies, administrative authorities, media, and other stakeholders in the fight against crime.
  • To work for the protection and support of marginalized, underprivileged, and vulnerable communities.
  • To establish connections with national and international organizations having similar objectives.
  • To conduct field research, case studies, surveys, and data analysis to understand and report on crime trends and justice issues.
  • To disseminate reliable information through online and offline platforms, helping society stay informed and vigilant.

Membership Rules

  • Any Indian citizen above 20 years of age, having completed at least 10+2 education and with no criminal background, is eligible for membership.
  • The applicant must submit required documents and pay the prescribed membership fee.
  • Membership is granted only after verification of documents and background.
  • NIB reserves the right to approve or reject any application.
  • No political party office-bearer or active political member shall be eligible to serve as an office-bearer.

Finance

  • Financial requirements shall be met through membership fees, contributions, and voluntary donations.
  • Donations from government bodies or political parties shall not be accepted.

Miscellaneous Provisions

  • NIB may establish local, state, and national chapters.
  • The Bureau may organize seminars, awareness drives, legal aid camps, and outreach programs.
  • It may publish books, reports, magazines, manuals, and awareness materials.
  • Digital platforms, mobile apps, and media tools may be used for public education.
  • NIB operates strictly within the framework of the Indian Constitution and applicable laws.
